Recycling Program Details
Gibson takes cardboard ,paper, aluminum cans, scrap metal, and e-scrap at its drop off location at 1252 MFG. Row in Trenton, Tn.
We also take used oil and scrap tires at the Gibson County Hwy. Dept at 1244 Mfg. in Trenton. Tn. This is made possible through the Waste Tire Grant and the Used Oil Grant from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation.
Gibson County is fortunate to have several private recyclers in the County.
Litter Prevention
Gibson County has picked up 62,500 lbs of litter off the roadways from July 1, 2009 thru May 31, 2010. This litter was picked up by inmates.
Gibson County presents Stop Litter Campaigns for 4th grade classes across Gibson County. We host a poster contest for the students and bookmarks and educational materials are presented to each student. This is made possible through the Litter Grant.
We have a booth at No Till Field Day in Milan where we display the poster contest winners and provide public education.
