Additional Recycling In Fayette CountyLocated at all the schools in the county are steel bins for cardboard; some schools have been supplied with plastic totes for the collection of papers in the classrooms. We also work with “special needs” students to collect plastic bottles and aluminum drink cans. There are newspaper collection containers located at Somerville Courthouse and Somerville Elementary for public use. Many businesses in the county have been provided with steel containers for the use of cardboard. Offices have totes ( same as used by the schools) for the collection of office paper and plastic and aluminum drink cans. Fayette County also has a commercial-sized shredder and offers free paper shredding to businesses and citizens. Anyone needing to watch documents being shredded is welcome to do so. Semi-trailers are “spotted” at several factories in the county for the loading of recycling material (cardboard, pallets, etc.) and swapped out regularly on a “call-in” basis. |
